Divergent Movie Review


Divergent is set in a futuristic anti-utopia town of Chicago where society is divided into 5 factions depending upon individual’s virtues, namely
            


The story is based on Veronica Roth's novel “Divergent” which didn’t receive much of appreciation. Theme is more of action and it revolves around Tris as the main role played by “Shailene Woodley”.
Tris Prior makes a surprising choice. Then Tris and her fellow faction-members have to live through a highly competitive initiation process to live out the choice they have made. They must undergo extreme physical and intense psychological tests that transform them all. But Tris has a secret that she is Divergent, which means she doesn't fit into any one group. If anyone knew, it would mean a certain death. As she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, this secret might help her save the people she loves... or it might destroy her.

Divergent has received generally mixed reviews from critics. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a 41% rating based on reviews from 143 critics, with an average score of 5.5/10. The site's consensus states: "With an adherence to YA formula that undercuts its individualistic message, Divergent opens its planned trilogy in disappointingly predictable fashion”
